Park Board Master Plan

Several months ago the Raytown Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with the PROS Consulting firm began a comprehensive master  plan for our park system. They have conducted a review of the system including public meetings and a survey to Raytown residents. Three parts of the plan have been completed:

  •        Waters Edge Aquatic Design, a professional designer of water parks, review of SuperSplash for existing conditions and recommendations on long-term options.
  •        Raytown Parks and Recreation Master Plan Review Findings
  •        Findings Report for a Statistically Valid Citizen Survey.

In the next few weeks, PROS Consulting will compile their written reports and begin to frame out the master plan with completed sections (with placeholders for incomplete sections) and provide the results. This includes:

  •  PROS identifying five preliminary/potential "big moves" for the Department to discuss.
  • Also, a decision on the future of the SuperSplash, USA. This decision  must be made by February. Should it be decided to open, the department will need to determine long-term pool options and provide direction back to Water’s Edge Aquatic Design on two alternatives so they can move forward to develop more detailed cost estimates.
  • A work session to review the Implementation Action Plan and confirm the big moves with the consulting firm in planned for early 2016.
