Mayor McDonough attended the Kansas City Regional Police Academy 26th Class, Longview Community College, University of Central Missouri, University of Missouri-Kansas City, Avila, CMSU Management and Traffic Institute and Northwestern Fire and Arson Investigation School.
Mayor McDonough moved to Raytown in 1963 as a young child. He has 3 adult children; Michele, Ian and Brianna. He also has 3 granddaughters. He worked for the City of Raytown in 1974 and became a Police Officer for Raytown in 1975. He served on the Police Department for nearly 40 years before retiring in 2014.

I love this City and ran for Mayor to continue my service to the Citizens of Raytown. I will work with the Aldermen and citizens to move this City forward in its projects and needs for improving infrastructure, aesthetics, businesses and the neighborhoods in order to attract and keep families and businesses here.
