Alderman Diane Krizek

Representing Ward 5

Alderwoman Diane Krizek was elected to the Board of Aldermen on April 4, 2023. Her passion projects include fostering community, economic growth and preserving quality of life in Raytown.

Although she was born and raised in South Kansas City, she’s lived in Raytown for 38 years. Krizek is currently a member of the International Relations Counsel in Kansas City, League of Women Voters, American Association of University Women (AAUW), NAACP, American Civil Liberties Union, KC Urban Core Group and the Raytown Chamber of Commerce.

Active in the community, she has previously served on the following boards:

  •          Raytown Parks
  •          Raytown Tree
  •          Raytown Arts Council
  •          Truman Heartland Community Foundation: Grant Review Committee and Raytown Advisory
  •          Kansas City Lyric Opera Guild
  •           AAUW: Raytown and Missouri

In addition to representing Ward 5, Krizek is the small business owner of a global retailer of Honda Gold Wing motorcycles and importer of custom-made parts. She was previously editor/publisher of the Raytown-Brooking Eagle newspaper and has worked for several governmental agencies to include U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, IRS, Social Security Administration, and the Missouri Department of Mental Health as well as Fortune 500 companies, KCP&L (now Evergy), and Sprint.

Krizek is a graduate of Grandview High School and earned her bachelor’s from Park University, where she graduated summa cum laude.

She has two adult children and two adult grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys sustainable gardening and foraging. She loves arts and culture and supports Global Ties as well as the Ethnic Enrichment Commission of Kansas City.
