Alderman James "Jim" Aziere
Representing Ward 2
Alderman Aziere (pronounced A sure) was first elected in 1998 and has
held this board seat for more than 20 years. His current term expires in 2027.
Fun Fact: Aziere was a teacher and coach for one year in Honduras.
He has previously served on the following boards and committees:
- Mayor Pro Tem (1998-1999 and 2001-2002)
- Raytown Charter commissioner
- Tree Board
- Police Restructuring committee
- Federal Taskforce to Write the Curriculum for Central High School
Alderman Aziere is a retired teacher and coach from Raytown High School.
He also taught at Bishop Miege and De La Salle Academy.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Missouri and
Master’s in Education from the University of Kansas.
His hobbies include cycling, writing, reading and community service.
