Drug Take-Back Day

When:

The Raytown Police Department will once again host a Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 30, 2016. The Drug Take-Back event will be held from 10:00am to 2:00pm at two convenient Raytown locations, the Raytown City Hall parking lot, 10000 East 59th Street, and the parking lot of Kenagy Park, 9700 East 79th Street.

During this collection event, officers will accept unwanted prescription medications but will not be accepting aerosols, inhalers, hypodermic syringes, and other sharps. Residents are required to place all unwanted prescription medicines into the Drug Take-Back bins at the collection sites themselves. If residents are not able to attend this event, a collection receptacle for unwanted prescription medications is available in the lobby of the Raytown Police Department.

The event is held in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Take-Back Initiative. This initiative provides local residents with a safe and easy way to dispose of their unwanted prescription drugs. When residents rid their homes of unwanted prescription medications, the opportunity for pill abuse, theft of medications from homes, and threats to local water supplies is greatly reduced.
