Board of Zoning Adjustment

Purpose

The Board of Zoning Adjustment meets once a month, on the second Thursday at 7 PM (only if an application has been filed and is ready for review), to hear applications for variances to zoning regulations or to hear appeals of administrative decisions.  The BZA does not meet otherwise.

If you wish to apply for a variance to a zoning code or appeal a decision made by an officer of the City regarding interpretation of zoning regulations, please contact Planning staff at 816-737-6059 to discuss the process and pick up an application and BZA meeting schedule.

 

Members

The Board of Zoning Adjustment, in accordance with City Ordinance and State of Missouri statutory requirements, is made up of five full members and three alternates appointed by the Mayor for terms of five years.  There is presently a Full Member vacancy on the BZA.
