The City of Raytown is committed to helping pet owners keep their pets safe and healthy while preserving the peacefulness of our neighborhoods. Each pet owner is responsible for keeping his/her pet well cared for and safe. To report a possible violation of our animal regulations, please call (816) 737-7025.

 

Our Services (for domestic animals only):

  • Cruelty/welfare investigations
  • Pet license
  • Removal of dead wildlife from public areas
  • Pick up strays within Raytown
  • Stray release
  • Injured or sick animal in public area
  • Excessive noise
  • Assistance to Raytown Police and Fire Departments


Annual City Pet License 

All cats, dogs, ferrets and pot-bellied pigs over 90 days old are required to have a pet license. This license is separate from the rabies tag issued by your veterinarian. A city pet license may be obtained online or in person at 10312 E 63rd St.

One-Year Pet License

(current rabies vaccine certificate issued by a veterinarian is required)

Unaltered Animal - $30.00 per year

Altered Animal - $10.00 per year

Late Fee (30 days) additional $25.00

Three-Year Pet License

(current 3- year rabies vaccine certificate issued by a veterinarian required)

Unaltered Animal - $50.00 per year

Altered Animal - $10.00 per year

Late Fee (30 days) additional $25.00

Lifetime Pet License

(current 3- year rabies vaccine certificate issued by a veterinarian required)

Altered Animal - $50.00

Note: All cats, dogs and ferrets are required to have an annual rabies vaccination from a veterinarian. Certificates of rabies vaccinations must be submitted                                                   online or in person for a pet license to be issued.
