Zoning regulations primarily dictate which land uses are permitted on a given property by what zoning district it falls under. Zoning also regulates which types of new structures are permitted on a given property as well as their overall dimensions.
The primary purpose of zoning regulations, generally, is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the general public.
To verify a property's zoning, you may request an official zoning verification letter from the Planning & Zoning Coordinator. Please contact the Community Development Department at (816) 737-6014 to make this request.
